Born in the quiet foothills of the Himalayas in Jammu and Kashmir, Mahesh Sharma carries that stillness into every work he creates. An engineer by training and an artist by compulsion, he began painting without formal instruction — driven instead by an instinct to find what a medium could reveal when pushed beyond its conventions.

His signature technique, which he calls "brushless artworks," builds compositions through multiple transparent layers — each one shifting the one beneath it, accumulating depth the way memory does. His work has been exhibited by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, and is held in private collections across India and abroad.

Today he lives and works in New Delhi.
